They weave themselves into the fabric of everyday life until they are indistinguishable from it

Fabric of Our
Everyday Life

I am a textile geek passionate about research and innovations in the Smart Textiles industry. I am always learning and exploring new ways to use textiles to create innovative and sustainable products.

I first became interested in smart textiles in 2001 and was fascinated by the potential of textiles to be used for sensing, monitoring, and controlling the environment and enabling the wearer (or the environment). I decided to dedicate my career to researching and developing smart textiles.

I have traveled extensively, working with universities and companies in India, Singapore, Sweden, UK and USA. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the global smart textile industry and the potential of textiles to improve people's lives.

In addition to my research and design work, I am also passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills with others. I have taught smart textile workshops to a wide range of people and communities, written academic papers, articles and blog posts about the topic as well as mentored startups and upcoming designers. I am also a frequent speaker at industry events.

I am a bit of a nomad and I have lived in many different countries and love to travel. I believe that my experiences of different cultures have given me a unique perspective on the world. I am always looking for new ways to connect with people from different backgrounds, to learn from them and collaborate to find creative solutions. I love lots of colour in my life and spices in my food.
